February 2016

Honestly, I'm glad to see February go. It was one of the hardest, longest months of my life. There were some highlights throughout it though...

I love seeing kids in PJs; it's so darn cute!

March 2015

It's finally spring! The leaves are turning green, the weather is perfect when it's not raining, the obnoxious bugs aren't out yet, and we've gotten tons of rain. March came and went with lots of adventures! Cameron won our game of Cootie:
The boys realized while unloading the dishwasher that they could be Wolverine (Kimball was already dressed as a ninja from instructions he found in Lego magazine).

We flew kites (Cameron flew from his helmet)...
Took some selfies:
We celebrated St Patrick's Day with leprechaun traps:

We went to Dallas, Lily turned 8 months, and we Thundered Up! We also spent a lovely day at the park where Lily tried out swings for the first time and loved it:
Cameron turned 6 and we finished a puzzle of hot air balloons...

February 2015

It seems like most of February was spent indoors...the entire last week practically was! Lots of hanging out and cuddling :)

One morning the boys decided to dress up as spies for school. Sadly I didn't have time to get a picture of the full outfits.

We celebrated Valentine's Day by going on a date to Eduardo's to eat. Dale spoiled me with flowers, purses, earrings, soda, chocolate, lotion, and more! Our poor babysitter had to put up with a screaming Lily the whole time due to separation anxiety.

We all matched for church the day after Valentine's day :)

Lily turned 7 months old!

We made Flubber one day. The boys thought the movie was hilarious, and the Flubber itself was a blast to play with.

Kimball presented Thomas Edison in his iHistory report at school.
Piggy back rides were enjoyed :)
It snowed! A lot! Schools were closed for 2 days. Then it warmed up enough to snow again a few days later.

The boys did the dishes and thought it was the best chore ever.

December 2014

December was full of the usual holiday festivities and the normal life happenings. It was still warm enough for Lily and me to walk Kimball to the bus stop sometimes and go on our morning walk afterwards.

We made gingerbread houses as a family.

Kimball got to march in the AR (Advanced Reading?) parade at school.

We saw Santa at Home Depot. The boys were very confused since Santa had a grey beard.

Dale, Lily and I got to go to the work Christmas party. It was a fun party with good food, photo booth, photo scavenger hunt, dirty Santa, and good company. Lily was the best behaved baby anyone had ever seen (and the cutest little Santa).

Lily turned 5 months old!

Kimball was a reindeer in his school play. He was Donner, and in the play, Santa and the reindeer went to Branson, Missourri to put on a show to raise funds for Christmas. "That's right sir. In fact, back home I'm often referred to as the North Polish prince."

Cameron had several lines in his school Christmas play where Santa gets stuck in a time warp and shows up in prehistoric times where he and his reindeer educate the dinosaurs about Christmas. T-rex even has a change of heart! Cameron did so well that he filled in for another group who was missing their dinosaur due to illness. "Santa Claus thank you for bringing Christmas to us."

Lily wore the cutest Christmas dress to church. The first time she wore it, it only lasted an hour due to diaper drama, but she got to wear it a few more times.

We went to see the lights at Wintersmith Park. We were hoping to ride their little train, but it wasn't running :(. Instead we walked a mile around the lake and Dale carried Lily the whole way.

Santa was at the library and had a white beard this time! There were tons of fun Christmas crafts to do.

We celebrated Christmas at home and went to New Mexico for New Year's.

5 month Lily

Our sweet Lily. You have changed and grown so much this past month!
Lily at 5 months old
Your personality is starting to emerge and you are such a joy. Lately:
-You found your toes (11/19/14). You love to hold them and try to suck on them.
-In November, you started working down from 3 to 2 naps a day; unless one of your naps is really short. Once you get tired, you don't want anything but sleep.
-At the end of November we gave up swaddling you because you would always break free.
-Your balance got better and you started sitting up in the "tripod" pose at about 5 1/2 months. Now, you love to sit up!

-On December 4, you rolled from back to front, and from there you only started moving more! Even the Christmas tree isn't safe because you roll from the opposite side of the carpet to get under the tree. I had to move all of the ornaments higher.
-You got too big for our baby bathtub and started taking baths in the kitchen sink. So far you don't splash or laugh much in the bath, but calmly observe everything around you during your baths.
-I still catch you making pterodactyl noises fairly frequently. You love to shriek.
-We were shocked to realize you are already going through a bit of separation anxiety. When you are hungry, if I hand you off to Daddy, you are furious!
-You love to watch the dog and you laugh at him more than anything else. There were some nights when you were so upset that the only thing to calm you down was for Daddy to sit on the kitchen floor with you and Duke.
-You got your first 2 teeth  (12/9/14). I thought you were like a piranha before, but now you are much more piranha-like with how voraciously you eat.

-You were born with clogged tear ducts, and sadly, they are still gunky. :( We're hoping they clear up before you turn 1.

Time is passing so quickly and I can't believe you've been with us for 5 months already.
Just born, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 4 months, 5 months, 6 months, 7 months, 8 months, 9 months, 10 months, 11 months, 12 months.
