March 2019

As we get closer to the end of the school year, time only seems to speed up!
The wall they built for President Trump

The kids were especially busy this month and I was running all over to get them to their events. Kimball had robotics at school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, would often stay after school on Monday and Wednesday for band, Boy Scouts on Mondays and Wednesdays and piano on Tuesdays. He had a piano competition on March 2nd where he got superior and qualified for the play off performance later that day. He also helped at the Dr Seuss day at the library.  He also played his first special musical number in Sacrament meeting: Ode to Joy.
Cameron had science club which he loved! He also had Cub Scouts on Mondays and some Wednesdays and recently started taking piano lessons which he is excelling at. He turned 10!
Lily got confused and convinced her teacher that her leader/snack day was several days earlier than I thought it was so we sent her to school with snacks...on the wrong day. Her teacher was so good and had two leaders that day. Then she got to be the leader again on her actual leader day. Lately when she wants to get out of doing something, her legs suddenly hurt too much to walk, or her voice is gone so she can't say the prayer. One day she told me "my tummy's been growling for YEARS for Mac & Cheese!"
Becca started giving open mouth, slobbery kisses on our cheeks...her teeth are often right there too so it's a little terrifying. She has started singing and loves having the radio on when we're driving. She will often ask me to hold her like a baby and rock her. Randomly, she will just stick her whole fist in her mouth and keep it there for ages. After spring break and seeing how much she was relying on her binky, I decided it was  time to say goodbye. I cut holes in the tips of her binkies and handed them to her. She would try to suck them and would exclaim "bleck!" She agree that since they were broken they needed to be thrown away. For the first few nights she would ask for a binky and I would remind her that they were all broken. She and Lily now stay up a lot later talking, but she has handled the transition quite well. She also has been telling me she doesn't want the sound machine on during nap or bed time.
Our neighbor's tree fell down a few months ago, and Dale finally had time to cut it all up and we brought it into our yard for future fire wood. It's crazy how much smaller the tree looks all cut up. Dale has also been playing organ at church and helping translate the meeting into Spanish for a sister who moved from Mexico.
Judy got to speak in church about the new Come Follow Me curriculum. We survived having company for spring break, and I managed to get the kids everywhere they needed to be.
We finally bit the bullet and bought a swing set. I wish we had done it sooner...the kids are out there everyday! Lily is getting so good at swinging on her own. The boys love the UFO swing and will sit in it for ages. Becca loves all of the swings.
