Spring Break 2019

It's a good thing that I didn't have much planned for spring break because we spent most of it just like we do every other year...sick! There were stomach bugs and effects of stomach bugs which kept us pretty much stuck at the house. My parents and brother Robert came to visit though...

They got here the Wednesday before spring break. On Thursday the boys only had a half day. Kimball had been sick all week and only went to school for the half day that entire week! Cameron came home with a fever and puked.

Friday was our first day off and dad and I both had a stomach bug. We stayed close to home that day. Everyone else seemed to get a little bored. Dale also assembled our first raised bed garden.

Saturday, we went to some garage sales and found some fun things.

Lily went to a friend's birthday party, and later all of the boys and Lily went to the Toy and Action Figure Museum in Paul's Valley. The girls stayed home and watched "Instant Family".

On Sunday we went to church, rested, and went on a nice walk at the park.
Monday we headed down to the Chickasaw Cultural Center. It was just as fun as our first time and my parents/brother loved it.

Then Grandma taught the boys how to play Cricket with the sets she brought them from Australia...

On Tuesday morning, my parents and brother packed up to drive home. That morning Kimball had a stomach ache which never seemed to go away. He couldn't sleep that night at all and was in pain all of Wednesday and Thursday. He literally laid on the couch and couldn't eat much. I thought it was just another stomach bug that he would get over. Friday morning I took him in to a pediatrician who had us get an x-ray to confirm that Kimball was blocked up pretty severely as a result of his stomach bug the week before. The kids were all so well-behaved at the doctor's and the hospital!

We got Kimball on some medicine to clear him out and he started feeling better pretty quickly. Since we were stuck at home, we got a lot of work done in the house and garden. I dug out the sod and leveled the garden, then we filled it with compost and soil. Then we were finally able to plant all of the plants we got for free at the Chickasaw Cultural Center.
Sunday morning Cameron woke up feeling sick, and Dale had a cold so they stayed home with Becca, while everyone else went to church. I got to play organ and teach in Young Women's. It's so much fun watching Kimball pass the sacrament.

Now, we're back on a schedule and kids are back in school...here's hoping we can avoid being sick for a while!!!
