Easter

We had a very busy, happy Easter this year!

The Easter festivities started early for Lily with an Easter egg hunt at school.

We spent the week before Easter following the Come Follow Me curriculum, reading about our Savior's life the week before He died and was resurrected. I can only hope that the kids got something out of it, but I enjoyed having it broken down day-by-day.

Our neighbor's parents host an egg hunt every year and Kimball wanted to volunteer at it.
After I dropped him off, I took the other 3 kids to an egg hunt at the church up the street. It was chaos! Lily got stuck on an inflatable with kids bouncing her all over the place. The egg hunt had the little kids go first for about 30 seconds, then everyone else went and the eggs were gone in a minute or less! Becca didn't want any eggs...just the candy that had fallen out of some. Poor Lily came up to me sobbing because she didn't get very many eggs. Cameron got a money egg.

Then, Dale picked us up and we went to the egg hunt Kimball was at. It was organized so much better with separate areas for each age. Lily was a pro. The boys got tons of eggs. Becca was less than enthusiastic.

Once we were done at that egg hunt, we went to our friend's house for dinner and another egg hunt. Debra had eggs to dye, a ham dinner and tons of eggs for each kid.
When we got home, we put the kids to bed and got set up for the next morning.

The kids were thrilled with their Easter baskets and got some pretty cool things from the Easter bunny, though Lily still gives Santa credit for leaving things in her basket.

We had an egg hunt at home because it's tradition and the kids expect it.

We went to church and had a great Sacrament program with musical numbers. I played "That Easter Morn" on my violin and the primary kids sang. Lily and Cameron sang their hearts out and it was so fun to watch. Dale wasn't feeling well, so I played the organ as well.

We had our traditional resurrection rolls, ham dinner, and spent time as a family. I'm so grateful for our Savior's sacrifice so that we can be together forever and repent of our sins. Happy Easter!
