Lily has been anxiously anticipating this birthday for months, because she's finally 4 which means she can go to Pre-K! Here, they do full-day pre-K and she's SO excited!
I decided to make her a carousel cake because she loves the carousel at our local park...and then I realized that I had a carousel cake when I turned 4!
On the day before her birthday, I had to go to Dallas with the ward youth, but Dale took her to ride the train and carousel at the park. Her birthday was on a Sunday, so the primary got to sing to her, and she got to tell everyone who would listen at church that she's 4 now. When we got home, I finished decorating the cake, then we sang and she blew out the candles.
The boys loved handing her presents, and she loved opening them...though she was quite sad to reach the end of the gifts.
For dinner, Lily wanted "normal round pancakes" with no bacon, no strawberries. It was a simple day, but a wonderful way to celebrate our little girl. Happy birthday sweet Lily!
We are having a tough time with the fact that she's already 4 and starting school. We know it will be amazing, but we also know that this means she's growing up, and once she enters into the big world of public school, she'll never be quite the same.
That being said, we are so excited for Lily, and so proud of the little/big girl she's becoming.
