Father's Day/Anniversary in Dallas

For Father's Day I've been planning to take Dale to an MLB baseball game for months. He's never been to one (and almost spoiled it by going to one on his trip to GA). I managed to totally surprise him with tickets to see the Texas Rangers play the White Sox on the 29th.

On the 29th, we left around 9 that morning so Dale could see a client in Sulphur. After his visit, we drove to our hotel in Dallas. We ate Costco pizza and had fun in the hotel pool. Then it was time to the ball park.

We got there in time to buy some souvenir baseballs and stood in line to get autographs from the players only to find out they weren't signing that night. The boys were so bummed.

So, we headed up to our seats at the very top of the stadium.
Becca decided to start saying ball the minute we walked into the ballpark, and said it constantly for the entirety of the game! She's been saying it ever since and adores the squishy ball we got her.

We ate yummy food and cheered on the Rangers as they hit 5 home runs!

There was a fantastic fireworks show at the end, set to the Beatles. Becca enjoyed them and Lily hated the noise.

After the game/show we headed to the hotel. We got there after midnight and didn't get to sleep until after 1:00. The next morning we got up, ate breakfast and packed up. We headed to Lisa & Michael's, who had graciously said they would watch our kids so we could go to the temple.

I didn't get whites washed before our trip and thought we could just get Dale a new white shirt at the temple (he needed one anyhow). We got there and found out they had none, so we ran to Nordstrom and spent far too much on a new, hopefully very good quality, shirt. We made it back to the Dallas temple and enjoyed a session there.
After the temple, we went to PF Changs for lunch and ate some delicious food! Our server was impressed that we've been married 12 years and have 4 kids :).
When we went to pick up the kids, Becca was the only one willing to leave with us. They all did so well and had fun, and we are so grateful to Lisa and Michael for watching them.

We stopped by Ikea (and regretted almost every minute of it since our kids were tired/crazy), filled up the tank and grabbed some food before we got on the road home. What a crazy, fun, tiring way to celebrate! Happy Father's Day Dale, and HAPPY 12TH ANNIVERSARY to us!
