After months (and months!) of issues with the house we've been trying to buy, we finally closed at the beginning of October and moved in on the 7th/8th. We were so blessed to have many friends come help us. On the 7th, we had just planned to move a few things, but Jamie brought her truck and helped us move all of our beds so we could sleep in our house that night. The next morning we got up early, ate breakfast and headed off to get ready for the big move.
Alyson brought her truck and trailer so we were able to cancel our U-haul reservation, and we had many helping hands (Merrill, Michael, Errol, Clinton, the Elders, and more!). I couldn't lift over 30 pounds, so I was especially grateful that Dale had so much help carrying things! I was able to get Cameron to his soccer game and Kimball to a scouting activity.
The boys loved helping and surprised me with the amount of work, and the heavy boxes they lifted and moved. Plus, they just kept going. They didn't complain or ever seem to run out of energy.
From the very beginning this house has felt like a home for us. Lily did amazing with the transition and still excitedly talks about "Our New House!" We switched her into a toddler bed when we moved and she has done great with it...very rarely does she try to sneak out and sleeps through the night still.
The boys especially seem to like our backyard...the huge tree, the rocks to play in, and the bugs to hunt.
After less than a month we are completely unpacked! We've gotten all the boxes out of our house and the bubble wrap has been popped to our hearts' content.
Dale found an old umbrella in the attic and, while I think it's hideous, he has fallen in love...as has Kimball.
We are so grateful, and excited to finally be here! I'll have to do a post later with a house tour :).
