October 2016

Hooray for fall! Never mind the fact that most days in October were in the mid 80's and it feels nothing like fall...

We started the month off with General Conference.

The boys had crazy hair day and I finally got to try spider webs in their hair. It's really hard to get those webs to stay down around their faces! Cameron said he was one of the most popular boys in class that day.

Then we moved! We unpacked like crazy and are all settled in now. The boys both had soccer games. In one game, Kimball got to score a last second goal!
Kimball scores!

Cameron has surprised us with how enthusiastic he is about puzzles and did a few by himself.

Dale tried out the pogo stick one day, and all the neighbors thought it was hilarious.
We went to the library during fall break for pumpkin painting. Amazingly, Lily stayed completely clean while using acrylic paints.
Lily and I went to the pumpkin patch with Cameron on his class field trip. It was ridiculously hot, and we were there for 3+ hours, but I love seeing my kids in different settings, with their friends.

On the Friday before Halloween, we carved our pumpkins. They looked awesome that night. The next day, there was a terrible smell on our front porch and we realized Kimball's pumpkin had rotted. By Halloween (Monday), all of our pumpkins were looking a little pathetic...apparently 80 degree weather for a few days is bad news for jack-o-lanterns.
That Sunday was the primary program. I was the one whispering into the kids' ears what their parts were, and Dale is the primary chorister, so were were both moving constantly through the program, but the kids did so well and it was a relief to have it done! The next day was Halloween, and then it was time to say good-bye to October!
