Uncle Nate

My brother Nate works for the Boy Scouts and had a training down in Dallas, so at the end of his training I got to drive down and pick him up! Kimball had basketball and soccer that day, so Dale kept the kids home and I got to spend the day with my little brother. While we were in Dallas we went to the Sixth Floor Museum, where John F Kennedy was shot from. I had been there before, but it was still a very sobering experience.

We walked over to the JFK Memorial
And saw a car similar to the one JFK was riding in.
Dallas was packed in preparation for a Cowboys game and we were exhausted, so we drove back home after that. The boys were super excited for Nate to come visit, and Lily warmed up to him very quickly!
The next day was Stake Conference and after we had been sitting in the chapel for over an hour, and the boys were having a little too much fun with their uncle, Kimball turned back to me and said "You're going to regret bringing an uncle with us to church!"

On Monday we gave Nate the grand tour of our little city (which took like 1/2 an hour ;)) and we walked around the park while waiting for Kimball to finish a scouting activity.

We just enjoyed spending time together, and the boys were especially impressed with Nate's ability to build Lego creations.

Tuesday morning, we drove back to Dallas to drop Nate off at the airport. Lily wanted so badly to go with him and kept asking where Uncle was the rest of the day. She insisted on him doing everything with her from singing bedtime songs to buckling her in her car seat while he was here.
While we were in Dallas we went to the Boy Scout Museum...
stopped by Hobby Lobby...

and Ikea.
Then it was time to head home. I left Dallas around 5:00 pm and actually made it home in 2 1/2 hours! It was so fun to have Nate here, and I only with he, and his family, lived closer :(.
