July 2016

We spent all summer planning to move in July so we packed, cleaned and had a lot of showings for our current house, but in July we found out that the sale had fallen through! So, we are still living out of boxes and trying to figure out what we are going to do now, but we still managed to keep plenty busy with other activities.
Dale and Kimball ran a 5K on the 4th. Kimball had decided to run it a year ago and stayed true to his commitment...he may never run one again, but he did it, and so did Dale!

We celebrated the 4th at the Marshall's house with swimming, water balloons, and lots of food. Then we watched the fireworks at Wintersmith Park and did some of our own at home afterwards.
We drove up to OKC for a baseball clinic at Bricktown Ballpark, but it started raining shortly after we got there and they cancelled the whole event. Kimball was so disappointed he wouldn't let me take any pictures or get autographs from the players. We were all a bit bummed that we drove so far for nothing :(.

We had many days where we relaxed at home. This summer the boys had a chore chart which included unloading the dishwasher, laundry, reading, writing, scriptures, prayer, cleaning their room, etc. They weren't allowed to have screens until after lunch and all their chores were done, and they did so well with this! It also helped them be creative in entertaining themselves the rest of the day.

Poor Lily was sick the whole week of her birthday, so we were all glad when she started smiling and acting more like herself again.
Kimball had Cub Scout Day Camp which he loved and looked forward to everyday...swimming, bb guns, archery, canoeing...

Then we went to our whirlwind of reunions in Utah and Idaho.

The boys have been so helpful with Lily all summer and I think they will be missed very much by both Lily and me when school starts again. We aren't ready for the relaxed summer days to end!
