July 4, 2024

At the beginning of the summer, Dale had the girls make a wishlist of things they wanted to do this summer. One of those wishes was to go to Great Wolf Lodge. The 4th of July was perfect timing to make that happen.

We headed down to Texas on July 2nd and checked in. Cameron secured us all a pair of wolf ears. We got a room on the 7th floor and got most of our walking just going from our room to the elevator.

On the 3rd (Wednesday), we ate breakfast in our room and headed down to swim.

July 2020

Life started to look slightly more normal as businesses started opening and activities resumed, but we still spent most of the month at home. Covid is still a huge part of our lives and greatly impacts everything we do.

We found out all 4 kids fit into the dog kennel...barely...

July 2018

July was a very anticipate month because we had so much happening! I got to take our boys to a farewell for some troops that were deploying, and just 2 days later celebrated the 4th of July. We had a fantastic get-together at the Marshall's, watched fireworks from the local swimming pool, and went home to set off some of our own fireworks.

July 2017

This summer was a challenge. 4 kids made for days with little breaks, hardly any naps, and feeling like there was always somewhere we should be. There were definitely ups and downs, but here are some of the highlights:

For the 4th of July, we went to the park for their festivities. We rode the train, carousel and played mini golf...
That night we drove to Purcell for the 4th party that our former stake president hosted. There were inflatables, some "fair" rides, food, and fireworks!

July 2016

We spent all summer planning to move in July so we packed, cleaned and had a lot of showings for our current house, but in July we found out that the sale had fallen through! So, we are still living out of boxes and trying to figure out what we are going to do now, but we still managed to keep plenty busy with other activities.
Dale and Kimball ran a 5K on the 4th. Kimball had decided to run it a year ago and stayed true to his commitment...he may never run one again, but he did it, and so did Dale!

4th of July

After parades in Provo being so exciting on the 4th of July, I was sure somewhere in Norman would have a parade so the night before I looked it up and on the 4th we got all loaded up and hurried to be there before it started…shortest parade I’ve ever been to! It consisted of a fire truck, followed by hundreds of kids on bikes and scooters, and finished up by a police car…some kids threw candy at our boys and that’s about all we got out of it. Dale might have laughed at me a few times over this.

That night, the boys were too tired to stay up for fireworks, so on the 5th we had our own little fireworks show with whistling pete’s, bees, and sparklers…lots of sparklers. Cameron burned his hand a little on one but kept coming back for more and the boys are both very proficient at asking to have their ears covered now (especially after Dale’s boss’ fireworks show a few nights before this!).

This was their first time really seeing fireworks/hearing them ever and they did really well…hopefully next year they’ll be able to enjoy them even more!
