July 2020

Life started to look slightly more normal as businesses started opening and activities resumed, but we still spent most of the month at home. Covid is still a huge part of our lives and greatly impacts everything we do.

We found out all 4 kids fit into the dog kennel...barely...

We went to the Ferrell's in Fate, TX for the 4th of July. The kids got to do a 4th of July Easter egg hunt at the local children's museum since their Easter event was cancelled due to Covid. Then we found a parking lot where we paid $20/car and set off fireworks with hundreds of other fireworks constantly going off. It was SO LOUD! But pretty awesome. The kids' ears probably suffered a bit.

Dale kept busy at work. He got to go to a city council meeting to see if the house next to our church could be re-zoned for a parking lot.

Judy turned 34. Dale made me a delicious cookies and cream cheesecake. I got to hold a baby kangaroo at a socially distanced, mask wearing library event I took the girls to. We found some fun events like free ice-cream from an ice cream truck. I finally finished re-doing the laundry room by taking off the wall paper, mudding the wall, painting and touching up.

Kimball finally won the alphabet game on our drive down to Texas. He saw a few school friends at the swimming pool and they all wanted to hear how deep his voice has gotten. He and his friend Cody would ride their bikes to the pool and spend hours there.

Cameron got to go to art camp. He loved it! Everyday felt like only 5 minutes to him. One time he said "it's weird. Kimball and I are worst enemies but we still like a lot of the same things."

Lily turned 6! She loves baking and had a goal to make brownies, sheet cake, cupcakes, Jell-O and several other yummy things. A frog had laid eggs in our little swimming pole and we got to watch the tad-poles grow for several weeks. Lily calls them tad-a-pults and it's adorable!

Becca just loves being involved, but also happily plays by herself for quite a while. We definitely had some typical 3 year old behavior with some biting, throwing fits and lots of tears, but in general she's such a sweet, helpful girl. She loved swimming the few times we went this summer.
We went with several families in our ward to Blue River one Saturday where we picnicked, played in the river, jumped off rope swings, and enjoyed the beautiful area.
