Albuquerque

Grandma and Grandpa Bundy have always dreamt of taking grandkids on trips, and this past summer it was finally Kimball's turn. They were supposed to go in 2021, but Covid made travelling unpredictable so they postponed it a year. In order for them to go, I got to take all of the kids to Albuquerque where we hung out with my brother Robert while they were gone. Dale had to stay home and work, so he and Shadow kept each other company.

We left on July 1 and drove straight there. I was pretty proud that I made the drive by myself since I hadn't done it in several years. July 2 was Saturday and Grandma, Grandpa and Kimball finished packing and getting ready.

Sunday July 3 I took them to the airport. Then headed back to the house and got ready for church. It was weird to attend the ward I grew up in without my parents. The girls were both very nervous to go to primary but we all survived.

While we were in Albuquerque we went to as many parks as possible...10-15!

We went to a sensory friendly showing of the new Spongebob Movie. The humor was lost on the girls, but Rob and Cameron enjoyed it.

We went swimming, and swimming and swimming. Lily learned to dive and Becca started getting a little more brave in the water. We sometimes went to the gym near the house, but also to a city pool and a friend's pool.

We spent one morning at the zoo. The penguin exhibit was very fun, but it was hot and tiring that day.

The kids loved doing the public library's summer reading program and got several prizes.

I got to go to the temple twice. It's so nice to only be 10 minutes from the temple there instead of our almost 2 hours in OK.

We went to the Natural History Museum and Becca loved all the dinosaurs.

One morning we went to Explora Children's Museum.

I met up with several friends...Christina, Matt, Jessica, James, Andrew and his family, Lasheka, and the Paynes. It was like a constant reunion all month!

Lily and I celebrated our birthdays while we were there. For Lily's birthday we went to a trampoline park. Becca was livid that she had to wear their socks but once she put them on, we all had a blast.

We had a sleepover in the den one night. The kids stayed up way too late watching movies and chose to sleep on the floor instead of on the couch.

Every day we FaceTimed with Grandma, Grandpa and Kimball and we talked with Dale lots. The girls really started to miss their Daddy.

We also went kayaking at one of the pools with an adaptive kayaking program. Poor Lily skinned her knee.

Many days were spent just hanging out at the house and enjoying the air conditioner, but we definitely went on many adventures. It was good to finally get home after being gone for so long and having all 6 of us together again.
