Fall Break

We split up for fall break this year...Dale and Kimball went camping/canoeing on the Current River in Missouri, and the rest of us stayed home. We decorated pumpkins at the library on Wednesday, then Thursday started early with Dale and Kimball packing to leave, and Lily had a dentist appointment at 8:00 am. The dentist went well and we headed home. Then Becca came down with a fever, and both girls had a cough, so we just stayed home that day.

On Friday, Becca was still sick. Cameron was bummed, but we rented the Lego Ninjago movie which he had been dying to see.

Saturday morning we loaded up and drove to Norman, first for the Touch-a-Truck event at the fairgrounds. Cameron was in boy-heaven climbing in all sorts of trucks! Lily didn't want to touch any trucks, and Becca just chilled in the stroller. It was so loud though because kids were honking every horn!
Then we went to the National Weather Festival and the National Weather Center. We got to learn about weather patterns and tornadoes, and Cameron even got to issue a tornado warning in their training center. We got some free goodies and loaded up to head home.
When we got to Ada, we went to a local bounce house place, but they were closed for a party...I had promised we would go during fall break, but it just didn't happen :(. Then we had to go to a baptism where I played piano, Lily danced, and Becca cried because I couldn't hold her. It actually went better than I thought it would.

Dale and Kimball drove to Missouri on Thursday, and set up camp. Friday was too rainy to canoe, so they explored caves and other sights at local state parks.
Finally, on Saturday, they got to canoe. All went well until Dale misjudged the current and their canoe tipped over. The water was pretty cold, and Kimball seems to never want to go canoeing again. Thankfully they had tied everything to the canoe.

They drove home that night, and Dale even got a free soda because he was in Scout uniform. We were all together again for Sunday.
