September 2018

My days are a lot quieter with the 3 older kids in school, but they seem just as busy! September flew by...

Our beloved Rex Rex met his match against Kimball on the trampoline and was damaged beyond repair. He's been a good friend these past few years, and loved to hide out in dark corners to scare me randomly.

Dale lost his assistant and went through the not-so-fun process of finding a new one. He spent some of the month in the brace from hurting his thumb in August. He and Kimball got tickets to an OU game, so they got to drive up to Norman for that.
Judy entered a local photography competition. The theme was doorways, and it was terrifying to put my work out there, but rewarding. I got to go to Time Out for Women in Arlington, TX with some of the women from our ward, and to a relief society retreat in Noble, OK later in the month. I found a place to do Zumba and have loved doing that again (I haven't found anywhere affordable/convenient since we lived in Norman).

Kimball keeps saying that over 30 is old...how little he knows. He's playing trumpet in band and has chair tests at least weekly. He's been 3rd chair, 2nd chair, and 1st chair. He had set a goal to get perfect attendance this year, but his goal was foiled when he came down with a fever and had to miss 3 days of school. In his new Boy Scout Troop, his patrol named themselves the Jet Pack Llamas. He's had lots of opportunities already in this troop, and we're excited to see what he gets to do.

Cameron is a master at catching flies. One day I found a Hunger Games-esque arena built from Legos where he was putting flies after taking their wings off. It included a buffet of Cheerios. He also discovered that he can feed those flies to Shelly the Turtle. He adores that turtle and squeals with delight when the turtle swims up to him for food.

Lily suddenly had her finger and toes nails start to fall off, as yet another result of hand, foot and mouth disease. She has always hated having her belly button covered by her pants, and is sure to pull down/adjust her pants so that they aren't touching her belly button. One day someone called her little and she exclaimed "I'm not a little girl. I"m a big sister!". She normally hates having her hair put up, but one day her teacher offered to put her hair up in a rock-star pony-tail. She said no to her teacher, but the next day insisted I put her hair in a rock-star pony-tail. She had me do her hair like this for weeks, then decided she was done, and won't let me put it up anymore.

Becca is obsessed with shoes. She daily raids our closet to parade in our shoes. There are shoes everywhere and she loves to wear mismatched shoes. She loves to be called "bih-bee" (pretty), and is obsessed with cats. She has a stuffed cat that she has to sleep with, and she calls all cats "nee-ow!". She also lost a few finger/toe nails to HFMD. She's much pickier about what she'll wear, and I usually have to sell it based on if it has an animal on it.
