Happy Halloween!
On the first day of fall break (October 17th) we went to the library to paint pumpkins...
The boys talked me into going the the Mummy/Son Dance that the city hosts each year. We all went as ninjas and had a good time. The boys loved playing the games, and we had some fun dances. The only casualty were Kimball's ninja stars, which we never found.
We carved pumpkins the night before Halloween since they tend to go moldy here... the kids are actually getting old enough to do a bit of the work themselves...and Becca just loved playing in the guts.
Preparations for Halloween began long in advance, with the kids all planning what they wanted to be, and changing their minds weekly. Finally, I told them to choose, and ordered their costumes so they couldn't change their minds anymore. Cameron wanted to be Hulk Buster, so I ordered his costume online. Despite checking the size chart, his costume came about 2 sizes too big. He was devastated! There was no guarantee we'd get our money back, so that's what he's going to be in two years when he's finally big enough. Kimball's costume came about two sizes too small, so we made him wear black shorts with it. Both boys ended up being ninjas.
Lily said she wanted to be Ryder from Paw Patrol, so we decided Becca could be one of the pups, Marshall. We ordered a Ryder hoodie for Lily, and Becca wore the same dalmatian costume that Kimball wore at her age, and my brother wore when he was a toddler.
Halloween itself was rainy and chilly. Dale volunteered to stay home to hand out candy. Kimball went trick-or-treating with some friends in our ward to a big, crazy crowded neighborhood. I took Cameron, Lily and Becca around our neighborhood. Since Becca was in the stroller, Cameron and Lily would run up to each door. After they got their candy, they would both ask for some for their baby sister, and would come running back with a handful for Becca, who made out like a bandit! If people didn't give Lily extra candy for Becca, she would run up to me devastated. We also went to a local church carnival which the kids loved. All-in-all, we had fun and got plenty of sugar to eat!
