Kimball turns 9!

We got to celebrate Kimball's birthday recently. He is now my favorite 9 year old in the whole world! This year, he is very into Pokemon and Shopkins, so he decided to have a mash-up of the two on his mint chocolate chip brownies with chocolate frosting.

He had standardized testing the week of his birthday and was indignant that he had to spend the first half of his birthday taking tests, but he said they went well, and he was ready to party when he got home.


We ate tuna casserole for dinner, then it was time to blow out candles...

and open presents.

We got him a Star Wars chess set and he had to open it to play while he ate his brownies with mint chocolate chip ice cream.

We are so blessed to have Kimball in our family. Lately, we often hear him say the phrase "when I'm president" in reference to all the change he's going to bring about when he grows up. He's also going to be a teacher, senator, and more. Kimball is such a good big brother to Lily, and is so responsible with her. He recently started mowing the front lawn each week, and it's amazing to see how much he is growing up (and yet, it's breaking my heart). Dale pointed out that we are now half way to Kimball being an adult and time is passing all too quickly, but we sure love this boy!
