July 2021

My friend Misty called and asked if we could watch her friend’s chihuahua mix puppy. The puppy’s name was Dahlia and the girls were in love! Lily held her every chance she got, and both girls couldn’t get over how cute and tiny Dahlia was.

July 2, we went down to Dallas. We spent one night at the Ferrells, then left our kids there and headed into Dallas to celebrate our anniversary…15 years! We ate lots of tasty food (including Vietnamese for the first time), shopped for couches and pianos, and went indoor skydiving! That night we stayed at Le Meridian Dallas. It was crazy to not have kids needing something for a whole night.

The next day, we went to the mall, ate more and eventually headed back to the Ferrell’s. Since July 4 was on Sunday, many places celebrated on the 3rd, as did the Ferrell’s city. We parked, and rode a bus to the park where there were inflatables, food trucks, games and fireworks. Happy 4th of July!

Sunday we went to church with the Ferrells. Kimball and Cameron had been saving money to buy fireworks, so we found a parking lot to light off tons of fireworks. It was so loud because there were so many people there. Poor Lily burned her fingers on a sparkler, and Becca was done with all the noise. After a while I took several kids back to the Ferrells and got them into bed while everyone else finished lighting fireworks.

Monday we ate, played games and drove off to get our new couches. We loaded them in a U-haul trailer and drove home.

We also watched a friend’s dog named Woody. He was a very energetic dog who loved fetch and could play for hours.

My parents and brother Rob came out for a visit, and to take the boys with them back to Albuquerque for 1.5 weeks. Dad, Rob, Dale, Judy and Kimball went to see Marvel’s Black Widow. We celebrated my birthday and Lily’s with them before they left. Lily got a kalimba from them.

Lily turned 7

Mom and Dad took Kimball and Cameron to so many fun places! They got to go to a trampoline park, a place called Meow Woof, the Wibit (water fun in Ruidoso), and more!

With the boys gone, it was very quiet at home. The girls went to the library

Then it was time for us to head out to NM for our reunion trip!

Kimball tried out football workouts and decided not to play football in high school, and instead focus on band.

Cameron said “yes! A quiver of arrows! That always solves everything in the real world!”

Lily has discovered how to make a duck sound and does so frequently. She also mastered the cutest wink.

We started having live music in Sacrament meeting after using recordings for our hymns (due to Covid), so Dale and Judy got to start rotating playing organ with another sister in the ward.
