| After Kimball's graduation |
Dale acquired a fish tank and spent a good amount of the month repairing/adjusting/tweaking/etc it...it's still not done but it's finally out of the garage. He grew out his hair and enjoyed curling it and was finally called Frodo by someone.
Judy went to Utah for Hannah's graduation. I took a paint class and worked on some paintings at home. I spent the last 2 weeks of school running to different activities/ceremonies/etc.
Kimball graduated from 6th grade. He got reading and grade awards. The superintendent asked if he could have Kimball's suit as he walked across the stage and Kimball was easily the best dressed boy there. He got to go to Camp Goddard. In his science class he built a bridge out of Popsicle sticks. No one believed it was strong enough for him to sit on it, and he even proved it to his social studies teacher in exchange for a free day in class. He's convinced his sisters to refer to him as "Master Kimball". We were at a play date with Lily's friend at the park and Kimball asked to borrow the van keys...and locked us out. We were stuck at the park for 2 1/2 hours until Dale could get away from work to rescue us. We had a picnic pizza lunch at the park when Dale came.
Cameron is obsessed with Bey Blades this month. He's using his allowance to collect more and will spend ages every day spinning them and exclaiming "Let it rip!" He's got Lily hooked on them too. He performed at his first piano recital. He also earned his Webelo rank. He finished up 4th grade and will be moving up to the next school which covers 5th and 6th grade and functions as a junior high essentially.
Lily was pretty sad about not having school anymore. She asked every day if it was her birthday yet and didn't handle it well when I said she still had 45 days. She is so excited to be 5 and start kindergarten! The boys were asking us about the different kind of kisses and Lily told us that penguin kisses are "when you put your fore head and someone else's fore head together and both persons wiggle their heads back and forth."
Becca opened our bathroom door and was so proud of herself...thankfully she hasn't been able to do it since but we know it's only a matter of time. Our van got messy and every time she sees it she exclaims "what a mess!". We were at church and I asked her to whisper. She replied "I dan't" "Why not?" "Cuz so hard!"
We've pulled out the water table, the kiddy pool and the hose. We've spent plenty of time at the library and park. The kids did so well getting along the first few weeks of summer break. For Memorial Day we got invited to a picnic with Eric Collier and Stephen Bagley. It was fun to see them, but the kids weren't huge fans of sitting and talking. They all got to ride the train and carousel at the park though. Yay for summer!
