Christmas 2017

We spent Christmas at home. The boys got out of school on the 19th, so we had several days of Christmas break to get through before we could celebrate, and it was just shy of torture for the boys...Kimball said he wished he could have been in school longer to make the time pass faster.

Becca was kind of accused of ruining Christmas because she kept attacking the tree. We finally had to resort to a blockade of sorts, but you can see how much damage she had already done...

Last year, we tried to go look at lights on Christmas Eve, but all the lights were turned off, so we made sure to head out on the 23rd. Lily could actually recognize the shapes of special lights and her exclamations at what they were, were adorable. We happened to stop by the park when the Polar Express and carousel were running, so we hopped out of the car without nearly enough coats and took in some of the Christmas spirit via Ada Kiwanis :)
Christmas Eve was on Sunday, so we only had Sacrament meeting. Then we came home and had to pass the time. We decorated cookies for Santa, and brought out presents. For dinner we had a roast with veggies. The kids reenacted the nativity and Lily loved being Mary on Kimball donkey's back!  We opened our jammies and got ready for bed.

Once little ones were sound asleep, Santa came. We asked the kids what they thought a fair time was for them to have to let us sleep in, and they suggested 8:00...deal! We woke up Christmas morning to the kids all talking excitedly around 6:30 and went out to see what Santa brought...

We let whoever opens the present pick which present gets opened next. The kids always pick each other, so Dale and I have a lot of presents at the end to open.

Becca naturally loved playing with all the wrapping paper!
And I got a selfie stick...all the better to take family selfies with, my dear!
We were able to lounge around and enjoy being a family. For dinner we had Christmas Eve's leftovers and popped crackers.
Then it was time to pack for our trip to Albuquerque. Merry Christmas!
