Lily turns 3!

The fact that it has been 3 whole years since Lily was born is mind-boggling! She has been so excited for her birthday and has talked about it for months. Trying to explain the concept of time, and days/months/weeks to a 2 year old is quite the feat, but the day finally came.

More than anything else, Lily loves Thomas the Train! It's the only show she wants to watch, and she spends 4+ hours a day playing with trains...she plays with them more than the boys ever did. So, a Thomas cake seemed quite appropriate.

We ate pizza for dinner, and after blowing out the candles, it was time to open presents.

She got a tool-kit from Grandma/Grandpa Bundy, nail polish from her brothers, a straw bowl, a basketball hoop, a Stephen train, books, mini Thomas trains, and Thomas socks. 3 year olds are fun to watch open presents because she just wanted to play with each one, so the process took ages, but the joy on her face was phenomenal!

At three years old, Lily's favorites are:
  • TV show/movie: Thomas the Train
  • Toy: Thomas the Train set
  • Books: Thomas the Train
  • Song: "I Love to See the Temple" and "Rainbow Song"
  • Color: Purple and green
She loves going to the park, library, and swimming. She still cuddles with bunny each night and sometimes takes naps. We just adore our sweet Lily. All day on her birthday, she was so excited to tell everyone that she was 3, but the next day she woke up and said she was ready to be 2 again. If anyone tells her what a big girl she is, she adamently tells them "No, I'm tiny!" We are all on the same page of not wanting her to grow up too fast, but she already looks so much bigger.

At her 3 year old appointment, we were shocked to find out that she really has grown a lot. She went from 10th percentile in height to almost 50th, and from below the charts in weight, to about the 25th percentile.

Happy Birthday Lily!
