It was announced that BYU was playing in the New Mexico bowl game against SMU the week before Christmas. As soon as we found out, we started making plans to drive there, spend some time with my family, and enjoy the game.
We left right after Lily’s class Christmas party on Friday, December 16 and drove to Albuquerque. The next day I took the girls to Lowe’s for their kid’s craft. Our friends, the King family, arrived that afternoon. My parents were kind enough to watch our girls, their son Will, and Cameron. The rest of us headed off to the tailgate. We got lots of BYU gear.
Then it was time for the game. It was so cold! SMU was projected to win, and it was a nail-biter until the very end when BYU pulled out a win. Isaac and Preston Rex both play for BYU so it was fun to see our last name on the uniforms.
We were there at the same time as Judy's brother John and Sister Hannah...
We got lots of cuddles from Grandpa and Grandma
The next day we went to church, and saw some of my friends there.
Tuesday, we drove home so we could be back in time for Kimball to get his wisdom teeth out…only to have his dentist have to cancel due to having the flu.
It was a quick trip, but it was fun to see my family, and enjoy the game with the Kings.
