January 2020

Welcome to a new year, a new decade, a new beginning!

We spent New Year's Eve at our friends, the Berry's house. We played games, ate yummy food, and rang in the new year very loudly.

The next day we drove to Wichita Mountains to hike with Greg and Dana Rex's family. It was much colder and windier than we expected but once we ate and got moving it wasn't too bad.

The river was frozen over and made a beautiful sound when rocks were thrown on the ice. The kids loved climbing the rocks.

Dale and Judy went to a game night with two other attorneys and their spouses. It was lots of games and yummy food and good company. We also went to a Chinese New Year's party at the Marshall's house in our ward.

The law firm finally got their new business cards and letter heads: Sweeney, Christopher, Rex and Lawson!

Judy spent a good part of the month taking care of sick kids...especially Becca who was sick for ages.

Kimball got evaluated for braces and we decided to wait at least a year to let his mouth/jaw grow more. He lost his perfect attendance streak when he had a fever. When we have new missionaries over for dinner, Kimball insists that we tell them our story of how we met/fell in love/got engaged. He loves jazz music and listens to Lucky Chops daily.

Cameron also lost his perfect attendance streak. He had so much make up work and was devastated that he had to do it over the weekend. One day he said "What if they made a machine that could turn your mustache into money? Dad would buy it!"

Lily missed 4 days of school from being sick. She has started sounding out words and is on her way to being an excellent reader. She told me "maybe when I'm six I'll be able to do a big puzzle cuz when I'm 6 I'll be pretty smart".

Becca  was so excited that her birthday was coming and constantly asked about it. She insists on peeling the wrappers off of crayons. If she could wear Frozen pjs constantly, she would. She always wears her socks mismatched for some reason...usually it's one Frozen Anna sock and one Paw Patrol sock.
When we kneel to pray as a family Shadow will often come in the middle of our circle and put his paw on someone's hand so he can be included in family prayer.

The Ferrells are in the process of moving to Texas so we went to help Justin in the first wave of moving. We can't wait for Katie and the kids to get here!
In world news, Coronavirus started in China and caused many deaths. The boys had to learn about it at school and were pretty freaked out about it spreading here. In Australia, the bush fires were devastating and destroyed far too many homes, killed a lot of people and countless animals perished.
