Halloween Fun

As always, Halloween was a whirlwind of events leading up to the actual day involving costumes, pumpkins, and more :)

Kimball and Cameron had a piano recital that they got to wear their costumes to the Sunday before Halloween. Cameron played " " as the Hulk Buster, and Kimball played " " as a pumpkin man.

We carved most of our pumpkins on the Tuesday before Halloween. The kids are all getting old enough to do quite a bit of the work involved and it's always fun having them each design their own pumpkin.
Kimball wanted to make a cannibal pumpkin but it was impossible to find a mini pumpkin so close to Halloween, so we improvised and made a mini pumpkin out of the piece we cut out for the mouth. He got quite a few compliments on his jack-o-lantern when kids were trick-or-treating.
Cameron had a class party with Coke floats, so Becca and I delivered some Sprite since he doesn't like Coke or Root Beer.
On Halloween, we had an early dinner of tuna casserole and fresh fruits/veggies. Kimball was pumpkin man, Lily was Elsa from Frozen, Becca was Anna from Frozen and Cameron was Hulk Buster.
I dropped Kimball off with our friends so he could trick-or-treat with them. On the way there, I asked if he had a jacket because it was pretty chilly that night and he said "Mom, I know moms are supposed to be paranoid but you are taking it to the extreme" or something like that.

Then we got the kids all dressed in their costumes and headed out the door, leaving Dale home to man the candy bowl.

Poor Becca's dress was a little long which kept making her trip, but she was a trooper and walked just as much as Lily did.

We ended up walking the neighborhood with our neighbor's grand kids...one of which is in Cameron's class. We also went through the church's trunk-or-treat up the street and Becca met a life-size Anna!
After we walked around the neighborhood, we went to a church festival which was super crowded and Cameron was the kind of the cake walk! Becca loved the "haunted castle" and Lily loved playing the games and seeing her pre-K teacher there.

We had our traditional stop at Mr Stephen's house for some extra candy and went home to take our traditional pumpkin picture. Then it was time to count candy and head off to bed. The kids sure passed out quickly that night and slept well.

Happy Halloween!
