Our baby boy turned 1 last Sunday! I couldn't believe it and was in denial up until 3 days before which is probably why I was in such a frenzy to get anything done for his birthday. Poor kid, I hadn't planned his gifts or cake or anything until the Friday before, whereas I have been planning Kimball's birthday for months.
It ended up being nothing like I had planned. I couldn't figure out a meal, since Cameron is still obsessed with mush and only occasionally eats real food on occasion. The
cake melted and looked pathetic; we didn't even eat cake until the next day because by the time we could get to the cake, Cameron was too tired.

Thankfully we had opened presents earlier in the day, which was a lot of fun. Cameron was a shredding machine and ripped all of his presents open, and actually played with his toys.

Life lesson learned: be flexible. If the kid isn't happy, no one's having fun! Even with added flexibility in cake eating, Cameron only wanted the candy on top and wouldn't touch the cake or icing.

I'm starting to think we were insane for having kids with birthdays so close, but at least in 2 weeks I'll be done with birthdays for a while.
However, I love my little cuddle bug and am so glad he is part of our family. Happy Birthday Cameron!
