Poor Boy

This morning after I had turned off the stove, Kimball reached over and set his hand right on top of it. He cried until I picked him up but was quickly soothed which after a while worried me. I've had burns before and I know how long they can hurt. He calmly sat on my lap and just wanted to snuggle for quite a while. I decided to call our pediatrician to find out what needed to be done and they said to bring him in so they could treat it for possible infection. My sister-in-law was kind enough to give me a ride since Dale had the car at work and after sitting in the waiting room for ages, we went back and waited in the little room for even longer until the doctor came in. Thankfully the blisters haven't broken so she said to just keep his hands clean and dry and in a few days the blisters should reabsorb and go away.
He's been so good at protecting his poor hand and holds it out to the side while he does everything he can with his left hand. Occasionally he gets really irritated that the weird bumps on his hand don't just wipe off and he keeps wanting to wash them, but otherwise he's been such a trooper.
Sadly, though everyone said "well, at least he's learned a lesson from this" as soon as we got home from the doctors, he went back over to the stove and started trying to touch it in order to explain to me that it's hot.
