March 2022

Between spring break and my parents coming to visit, we were pretty busy in March…never mind all the normal stuff we have day to day.

Cameron’s performance in Wizard of Oz

Spring Break

Every year everyone gets sick for spring break and we have to cancel our plans so we’ve given up on planning anything fun for spring break, and just spending it at home being lazy…

Monday we had a dentist appointment for me and all four kids in Noble. That went well and we headed home.

Tuesday Cameron had a dentist appointment in Moore. Afterwards we went shopping to our new favorite store there called Merchant Mart.

Wednesday we went skating with several friends in the ward. Becca and I also went to a gardening workshop at the library and several play dates commenced.

Thursday Becca had a play date and Lily had a play date. The boys got to chill at home. Kimball asked for spring break to be a lazy time. It was St Patrick’s Day so we had to make sure everyone had green.

Friday and Saturday were lazy, run errands and other random insignificant events.

Sunday we had church, one of Lily’s friends got baptized, then my family arrived. Dad’s spring break is a week after ours so they came out for his.

Other than spring break, Cameron was very busy with play rehearsals which culminated in his school performance of Wizard of Oz. He was a winky guard and did fantastic hefting around a sword almost as tall as him. My family got to see his premier performance on his birthday and left the next day. One time when the girls were talking about Santa only coming at Christmas, Cameron reasoned “Santa’s allergic to vitamin D, that’s why he doesn’t come out during the day.” He also received the “Triple C” award at school…

My family was here for Mom’s birthday so we got to celebrate that with them as well.

Kimball had band, piano lessons, trumpet lessons, school, seminary, and played plenty of Fort Night.

Lily maintains that she doesn’t want to get married, but wants to live with Mat Ferrell. She loves Girl Scouts and did the Thunder Reading Challenge where she has to read 20 minutes a day for the whole month. She got her first Covid vaccine and did so well!

Becca told her siblings “Did you know Santa’s only alive at Christmas?” She loves school and had a blast when her school did “stay and play” with extended day and eating lunch at school. My mom, Robert and I got to go to her school for kite day where we spent 1/2 an hour trying to get a kite to fly without much wind. She got her second Covid vaccine and wasn’t a fan but held very still.

We had a foster pup named Buck…but they changed his name to Bodie. He was a “cowboy corgi” which is a corgi/heeler mix and was a funny little pup. Shadow got along well with him, and the kids adored him.

Dale got new glasses and Becca had to help him pick them out, and try some on herself.

Judy spent lots of time trying to get seedling growing for the garden…they’ve taken over the house. I got to take my violin to Becca’s school for letter V week, and Sonic the Hedgehog for letter H week. It was fun seeing her in her classroom environment!
Also in world news, Russia invaded Ukraine. Ukraine has held their ground and impressed much of the world, but there was talk of it starting World War 3. Gas prices soared and the impact was felt throughout the world.
