Christmas 2015

It had been 8 years since we spent Christmas with the Rex side of the family, so we made the trek to Utah this year.

We left on the 22nd and drove to Albuquerque that night. My mom managed to squeeze in some family pictures while we were there.

The next morning we got up and drove to Utah. Near Cortez we encountered some blizzard like conditions with many semis and some cars crashing. The trip took us 12 hours and we finally got into Dale's brother's house in Orem around 10 that night. We made gingerbread castles when we got there and the boys loved playing with their cousins.

The next night was the big Rex Christmas Eve dinner/party. There was a white elephant exchange with much excitement and drama! Kimball got a chore chart and was certain no one would steal it from him. In the end, he got the coveted remote control car.

We left that night to drive up to Brigham City and spent much of the drive at 25-30 mph due to snow. We got there by 1 AM, and set up for Christmas. The kids all slept until 8:00 (thank goodness!) and then we headed downstairs to see what Santa brought.

It was wonderful to spend Christmas morning with Grandpa Rex & Grandma Sharon. We had a lovely breakfast casserole. The boys got to play with their cousin and we went sledding.

That Saturday we went to Dale's sister's house in South Jordan, and then on to Temple Square to see the lights. It was frigid but stunning!
We spent two nights with the Ferrells with plenty of board games and fun. Sadly Katie didn't have their twins while we were there :(.

Our last night in Utah was with Dale's brother.

Lily was having a very hard time with the constant change and not having her own crib to sleep in, so we left a day early and headed down to Albuquerque for New Years. On our way down, we met my brother Nate and his family in Moab (on their way back up to UT) for lunch. Dale & I got to go on a couple of dates to the temple and to see Star Wars.

It was a lot of traveling, but our boys loved all the time with their cousins and it was wonderful to see everyone again. Now we just have to adjust back to real life...work, school, etc!
